Okay, ask away.

I see no question mark, nor any inferred question. My long distance mind reading is on the blink lately.

For this case, Year, Mileage, Codes pulled, Other problems going on, would be worthwhile to share.

I am sorry for the Mods above. We've been getting a lot of whines and not enough actual conversations on here lately.

2006 lt 1

My HHR is a 2006 LT1 2.2 with 93746 miles on it. Does anyone know what correlation there is between the check engine light being on , and the dashboard display showing "POWER STEERING".

They are trying to tell you to get the codes read, so you will know what's wrong.

Sorry, that's all I got.

check engine light

I am going to go get the codes read. I guess what I am asking here is if anyone has had this happened before so when I get the codes read and they tell me it says you need a muffler bearing, or a new knuting valve,I can say you are full of shaving cream and go on my way else where.

Just an off the wall guess here, but I think if it comes up with a Power Steering code on the DIC it's probably a problem with the power steering. If something else comes up other than that, check it out. If the Power Steering comes back up when they read the codes, then that is possibly what it is.. In any case, I would find out, and then head to the dealership tomorrow.

The link I posted a little while back was for the Power Steering Recall/Warranty Extension. Dealer work.
