My end links have been replaced a few times, and it always fixes the problem...short term.

Why do the same parts fail repeatedly and why is my dealer "not hearing" the problem anymore? It's aggravating!

I had the famous clunking as well as a rattle when I braked and in the end just driving on a rough road. Thought it was the table bushings for the clunk as I recently changed the end links. Dealer said it was all in the steering column. They changed the column, and apparently my intermediate shaft was seized so they freed that up and lubed it. There was no clunking after that...for a day and a half. The rattle is still gone but the clunking noise came back. It started out very lightly and within a day and a half, it's right back to what it was before they changed the column! I'm guessing when I call them today, they'll tell me it's the intermediate shaft. So, back to the original question that started this thread, does anyone have any pics or diagrams of this shaft so I can see if it's something I can fix myself as my warranty is up and I just dished out $900 for the column?

The dealer "can't find or hear" the problem. It drives me crazy. Frankly, I don't know anymore where it's coming from, but it is very distinct to my ears and it makes the car feel cheap over your average Chicagoland roads. I don't know what to do at this point, but I'm not giving up yet!
Come up to Milwaukee and go to Holz Chevy. They will replace the stabilizer bar links. And yes, the Chicagoland roads do suck. I thought Wisconsin roads were bad until I drove to some Chi-town suburb.

I had the links replaced on my car(along with the brake pads and added the shields). That cured the clunk but now I hear the sway bar bushings creak(from them binding up) at low speeds.

My 2009 with 3000 miles sounds/feels like I am in a boat hitting logs in the water - heavy clunks. Of course dealer said they could find nothing wrong.......

Go to a different dealer. I went to one on Monday that said that, and I said screw them! (Not literally to them.)

Went to another dealer, had the steering column replaced later that afternoon. Took care of it.
