I feel for their anxiety about the urgency of their issue, but to ask does anybody here know about cars? She has a Cobalt and joined a HHR site, not too different but still not exactly the same as the other.

reduced engine power

I had Just got on the highway, and all if a sudden my Chevy hhr started running very sluggish and the message center said "reduced eng pwr" so I pulled over puzzled because before this the vehicle ran perfect. I realized I just bought gas and and went back and just screwed the gas cap back tight because it wasnt all the way tight. Turn the car back on and it started running regular again. Haven't had a problem since. The engine light was on too but it was time for an oil change

The Check Engine Light has nothing to do with when to change the oil!!!!!
It probably had to do with the gas cap, but you should find out for sure by getting the codes read.

Oh, and Welcome!

more than once, i've seen the reduced engine power deal being a result of the MAF connector plug having come loose....

A good thought Oldblue but mostly would be a waste of typing time.

Most of these One and Dones don't even come back to this site, so they would never see the PM's.

True I do get an Email when I get a PM, but as Rick Emmett once sang in the band Triumph..."Don't waste my time!! "
He was a great guitarist!
