URGHH!!! It happened again
Started the HHR this morning, to the sight of the "ENGNE POWR REDUCED" message again. This is the second time this happened. Last happened at the end of February and the throttle body control was replaced. I'm sure this will be under warranty, but I am getting sooooooooooo FRUSTRATED!! I have never had to visit the service dept so many times, as what I have experianced with this car. I dont want to start a whole this make is better than that make argument, just venting- really frustrated...
I really love my HHR, but I have owned it for 15 months, and this is trip #5 to service. Hopefully, it will be fixed once and for all tomorrow when I drop it off and I never get that message again.

Thanks guys. You know, I am very curious, as always, to see what it is this time. I am concerned that it is the throttle body control again. For one to fail in a month is concerning.
The guys at service at my dealer definately take care of me, I am dropping the car off in about 3 hours and they already have a rental lined up for me. (last time the rental was a cadillac srx).
The frustrating thing is having to take a new veh. to service so many times. It already makes me question how long I keep it after the warranty is up.

I feel your pain, 2007 2LT, 40,000 miles, owned it from new for 2 years. 15 trips to the service Dept. I finally traded it in. I was afraid that I was going to have to pay to have it repaired every time I turned around in addition to making regular payments on it. I really wanted to like it but it got harder to do so as time went on.

fruth - that is where I am afraid that I may be heading. Hopefully things improve.
NXLKing - there is no fuse issue here. There is a code being set off.. When this happened last month it was a throttle body control that went bad. When the engine power reduced message comes on it feels like trying to drive on two cylinders. When you step on the gas, get a push, then it suddenly stops and then tries to go again. Almost feels like you are going to stall out, then it accelerates very slowly. No fuse issue.

I am odd man out.
40k miles put on my 06 in last 15 months, have never been to any dealership since I bought it(used with 32k).
Only problem I have had is had to re-seat loose fuses twice to get cabin sounds/radio back on. 2 minute fix.
Sorry to hear about the frustration. Sad part for me is, I am done with my HHR, but thanks to the rent-a-car companies saturating the used HHR market, they are now worth even less than they were already so I am so upside-down in my loan, no one will pay me what I owe on it to get a new/replacement car...so I am stuck with it...unless you know someone willing to pay $12k for a 72k mi 06 2LT. heh heh
odd, huh? I seem to have a great HHR, and I dont want it anymore. Yours seems to be frustrating you, and you still love it.

Got it back today, and apparently there was a tsb for a wiring harness, and that was what it was. They crimped the wires and did what ever they do. I wasnt paying much attention when the service manager called me today.
Hoping all will be well for more than a month.
