Lift Gate Re & Re ?

I did a search and came up empty for an lift gate change or removal. I was wondering how the wiring to the gate disconnects? Is there a main plug, or will I need to remove and fish the wires through the gate for the light and release?

Mitchell says you need to disconnect each wire, then pop the boot out.

Thank you Donbrew, not quite what I was hoping for, so hopefully it's fairly straight forward fishing them through.

All of the wires go thru the boot. You just need to pop it out of the hole and pull all of the wires at the same time.

So far so good, the only snags so far, are the plug that goes to the release handle to open the gate, needs to be dismantled. It will not fit through the opening while still assemed, it was fairly straight forward to pull the pins to slide the plastic clasp off though. The other hiccup I had was when I unplugged the harness at the wiper motor the release handle didn't work, I'm assuming there's either a ground or the circuit is interrupted at the lights or wiper. I had to go so I just plugged it back in to close the gate until I'm ready to remove the other one too.

When I'm done, I'll try to assemble a step by step, for others in the future.

The switch supplies ground, sort of.

See if you can read this.

The drawing is enough to give me what I need, so now I just need to decide where the relocate will work best for me.

What more are you looking for? Seems what you quoted covers everything but the unbolting.
