Oil leak....
#11
I am a do your selfer kind of guy but new vehicals scare me. I've only dealt with Honda before this...I rebuild aircraft hydraulic systems in the Navy all I need is a little direction other than the oil pan is broken... Very frustrating having a new car. Its hard to believe that I'm the only person with this problem...

Depending on labor rates in your area this is a $300-350 repair, parts and labor. The pan is resealed with sealant and no gasket is needed. This is about a 3.0 hour job. The only GM TSB I could find for an HHR specific, is on oil leaks at the rear oil galley plugs, but that is for the 2.2L.

That sounds like what the mechanic said rear oil something er other. Removing a gasket and replacing it with sealant for 1000 bucks is highway robbery. I know its asking a lot but can you link me the TSB for the 2.2L. I'm probably going to go to Chevy and try to raise more hell this weekend.

I misspoke before and sorry I missed this. But I was looking for "oil pan leaks" as you had mentioned. Here is the TSB for oil leaks at the rear of a 2.2...........
Oh, and if this was warranty work, GM allows 5.5 hours of labor on the automatic trans and 6 hours labor on the manual.
