Oil Leak

Oil Leak
I have a 2009 HHR with 136,000 miles that just recently started leaving a fluid leak in the garage. I believe it is oil and was able to crawl underneath it to finally figure out where it was coming from but have no clue what this part is or what is causing it.
The leak is coming from the back of the engine on the passenger side and dripping down onto the transmission. The part is on the passenger side of the engine and appears to have a silver metal tube going inside it. It is also pretty far up towards the engine and directly underneath the exhaust manifold. I can see oil dripping down and it appears to be coming from the end of the metal tube. I have no clue what this part may be, any help would be appreciated! Pictures are attached as well

The part you are referring to is the water pump housing. The silver pipe is a water cross over pipe. The only thing wet I see looks to be mostly clear so it certainly does not look like oil which would be black. Usually a coolant leak in our cars should be orange and should also form a white crusty buildup where the leak is. BUT if your coolant mix is almost 100% water or has been replaced by a clearish coolant (clearish so that it can take on the color of the current coolant) then I could see that being coolant.

Welcome to the site clr8210.
I found this picture in another thread. It is of a 2.0, but the water pump and piping on your's are pretty much the same. This ought to help you "see" where your problem may be.

I think 07 and George have pointed you in the right direction, but you'll really need to get your HHR on a lift to get a good look at things.
You may also want to consider a dye test for the cooling system, once the dye has circulated, any leaks will show up with an ultraviolet light.
P.S. to the forum!

Thanks for the replies! I took another look at the fluid and it does have an orange tint to it so it is going to be coolant and not oil. Has anyone replaced a water pump on one of these before? It looks like it is not easy to do but hopefully I'm wrong.
