whopper - Yes, I think I definately want to reset the codes. Thank you for the information/advice/instruction. The extra tid bit about my battery being under the rear floor is particularly valuable. Whodathunk?

People who have read the "Owners Manual" would have thunkit? (link in my sig)

BTW, if you can change your own air filter you can do the replacement yourself and save at least $100.

I think somebody is quoting a price for a different part at $45 each.

I agree with Don here on that $45 a piece quote. If that's a GM dealer quote, either it's a very discounted price or the wrong part(s) quoted.

Fwiw. If you didn't know your battery was back there, you should check out that compartment anyway.
Something else is stored back there that you may need one day. You should at least take a look and make sure all the components are there.
(jacks and lug wrenches are known to be missing when you need them the most)

Anne, have you double checked your oil level? How old is your oil and is it 5W30 ? It's easy to change the two solenoids just the wire connectors and two 10 mm bolts.

Quick update ..... I have an appointment for Tuesday to replace both solenoids. I was told that it takes "a few hours" to do this repair. I hope this doesn't end up costing quite a bit more than anticipated due to labor charges.

*keeping fingers crossed*

A few hours? If most of us here have changed them ourselves in less than an hour (and we aren't professional mechanics), and they want a "few hours" - something is seriously wrong.

In my "how-to" post, I made mention it was a 45 minute job MAX for the home mechanic!! - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/

And that includes a first timer figuring out how to get the air cleaner off!

Yeah I replaced mine in about a half hour. Try to find a different shop if you can because they will likely turn a 100 dollar or so job into a few hundred....sounds like they might charge close to 400 which would be absolutely insane and a huge rip-off to do this easy, simply job.
