P1174

am starting to work on my wife's 2006 2,4 HHR. I am having a few interesting issues. First I started to work on unclogging the sunroof drain lines, I think for now that problem is resolved. I also have an whining noises that is coming from the front left speakers. I disconnected the tweeter and it went straight to the mid in the door. It doesn't always have the noise when it starts if you hit a bump or press the brakes firmly it will stop some of the time. Also, I am pulling up the p1174 code on it, when I hook it to my scanner as well as a misfire in cylinder 2. Any thoughts? Thanks

Thank you for the welcome. Is it okay to only replace the one injector. If so do I need to reprogram the ECM and if so how do I do that?

Well, I just replaced injector #2 and #3, and pull the codes to erase them with the scanner. I did this at 2010 July. No issues at this time.

It is possible that the injector is the problem but, I'd be tempted to troubleshoot the code, first, using the info in the factory service manual. It's likely that info will lead you to an injector replacement, but it's also possible it will not.

You might get lucky with one injector fixing it. Here is the bulletin on this one.

Anybody try the aftermarket injectors, BorgWarner from Orielly Auto Parts?
Only one year warranty, but only $47 each.
