passenger door is temperamental ...sometimes it will latch and stay shut and sometimes it is like the latch just does not catch and keep the door closed... any remedies out there? took it apart and finally got it to stay shut so I can't use that door till I get it fixed...

Most door latch problems are from rust/corrosion on the levers/linkage on the latch. There is a tsb on latch diagnostics with some pictures that may help you although the tsb does not state your exact problem. Type tsb in the search box and click on official tsb thread then see post 127.

If it is rust/corrosion of the latch you can try to free it up with up blaster or wd40 oil however if my latch was not latching the door I would probably replace the latch for the safety concerns instead of trying to free up the rust.

It has a dealer list price of $139.30

But a Google search will turn them up for anywhere from $105-115.
