possible ignition switch going bad ?

Hey guys my 2007 hhr that has 185000 on her ,the problem is once in awhile i turn the key the dash lights come on and no start no clicking nothing ,and i would try again and it starts on a dime kind of weird.. the starter was replaced 4 years ago so kind of puzzle ,when it starts it is fast not slow... anyway i am going in for the recall to replace ignition module and key cylinder, hopefully that's the problem....

I agree check the battery and also check the battery cable connection at the under hood fuse box. Some time they loosen up and causes problems like that.

Maybe, that's what the recall is about?

I know this was posted several years ago, but I seem to be having the same issue you were having. Curious how you solved it.

I just replaced the starter and battery. The car starts with no problem 9/10 times, but then the 10th time it doesn’t turn over. I did take the car in when the safety recall came out for these ignitions and the dealership replaced it then.
