Hey guys, I just got back home, but tomorrow I will replace the BCM fuse and see if the mirrors come back online.

Not sure. Never had to deal with that on an HHR. I got my info from the GM Service Information website. I have access to the 2006-2009 HHR (as well as many other GM vehicles). It says the same thing for all four years.

OK....the only two fuse panels I can locate are the one under the hood/driver's side and under the dash/passenger's side. The only BCM fuses I can find are ok, a 40amp and a 30amp, both under the hood, all other fuses look ok. Checked under the dash, no BCM fuses, but all fuses check ok. Does the BCM have a separate fuse panel where a 7.5amp fuse can be located? If so, does anyone know the location of that fuse panel. So far, I haven't located a 7.5amp fuse. I changed the 5amp MIR fuse for the heck of it eventhough it looked good just to make sure.....nada.

See post #7 in this thread. But after Firemangeorge's post, I'm not sure if that fuse will actually be there. His manual says no, mine says yes.....

I found the BCM fuse panel. There is also a diagram on the cover, however, there is no 7.5 amp fuse to be found. There is no fuse marked as BCM, Mirrors, MIR, Power Mir, or any remotely connected to the mirrors. The diagram can be found here:

I checked #24, thinking that SDM could mean "side mirrors", but it was good.

Everything else is functioning as normal as far as I can tell except the mirrors.

The only thing I can figure is that the original switch went bad and the switch I bought to replace it is also faulty. I guess I'll find out when I take it to the dealer for the ignition recall.

.....went to dealer

Well....I finally got to the dealer for the switch recall and I asked them to look at the remote mirrors. The tech suspected a broken wire inside the door panel, but they want $368 just to take it off and look. Now I remember why I don't use the "stealer" for work on my cars. I know how to remove the door panel and I have a multimeter.........they also wanted $252 ($180 labor) to replace a serpentine belt and an air filter. Is it just me or does this sound like a ripoff?

The serpentine can be a PIA, trick is to buy the tool from Harbor Freight on sale then cut the handle down to a size that fits in the engine compartment. Part cost about $20.

Filter is a PIA. Use the SEARCH for instructions, only real trick is getting a torx wrench.

I just fixed this on my 07. Same situation neither worked, looked around at all the fuses first. It is just dirty switch contacts.

There's 2 torx screws in the door handle. Handle comes out rear end first. Take the switch apart and clean all contact surfaces with alcohol / qtip. Worked for me.

RE: switch

I checked the fuses, even re-seating them, but everything was good. I even replaced good fuses just in case. I tried cleaning the mirror switch contacts....I even bought another switch and installed it, but still no mirrors. Perhaps the mirrors and the radio speakers are caused by the same problem. If I had to guess I would think maybe a wiring harness problem, perhaps an open wire or bad connection, but I can't find it.
