No auto locks, shifter not working properly, etc

Hello all, Ive got several new issues that popped up on my HHR within the last 2 days or so.

First of all, my auto lock/unlock feature is not working, and yes it is turned on properly in the DIC. It does not lock in gear and unlock in park.

Also, there is a audible clicking noise coming from the console area every time I hit the brakes. This is a new noise, it has always made a slight click when shifting out of park, but never when driving.

Also, the "I" position on the shifter is no different from the "D" now, it does not downshift to a lower gear when placed in the "I" position, this is new also, I used to use the "I" position frequently on some of the long, drawn out hills around here.

The other issue I have cannot be confirmed, but my wife stated that it was shifting hard and jerking the other day when she drove it, but by the time I got ahold of it, everything is fine in that department. Drives as it always has now, with no harsh shifting.

I have searched the forums and found everything from a faulty shifter, to hood latches, to the BCM, to mystery modules, all sorts of things, no definite answer.

Is there new information on these issues? Would like to figure something out. Thanks!

No CEL's showing. It could still have some codes stored in the computer. I would suggest having the codes pulled to check.
The harsh shifting sounds like it may have gone into "limp" mode when your wife was driving.

about clicks in the selector lever.
Perhaps this is a defect, but I hear it in my HHR with 2009 year. I do not think that this is a problem. Just the sound mechanism "on / off".

about auto lock/unlock - in the case of door lock/unlock while driving. This function is controlled by an onboard computer. Perhaps inadvertently disabled?

Well, I thought I would post back about my issue. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, everything is back to normal. Just went out the other night and drove it and noticed everything was working fine, and no problems since. Door locks work like usual, and the annoying clicking when braking is gone. Also the I and L positions work as they should on the shifter again.....gotta love GM electrical gremlins, Ive had them on every GM car ive owned.

Any chance you left something plugged in like a cell charger, radar detector etc. that might have drained enough out of the battery that dropped the voltage to the point that the car starts to act a bit weird?

That and cold weather! Make them sticky, it's a seasonal preventative maintenance thing for me , a squirt of spray white lithium grease.
