2008 Paint Blotches

Today I was looking at the roof and I noticed 3 ring like blotches in the paint. Looks similar to bird droppings, but different. It looks like the paint is blistering. Like the car was never waxed on the roof in 10 years. Anyone have this problem? I only have 1700 miles on the car.

I have a Black SS and get the same thing if I don't wipe it down right after washing it. It looks like damage, but it is actually just really bad water spots. I don't know if it is the same thing going on with yours, but just thought I would throw that out there. Can you post some pics?

When the car was first delivered, HHRs had a problem from rail dust. This from shipping the vehicle by rail. It was a problem for me and the dealership repaired the problem. Might be the problem for you too if you really didn't look too closely the time first that it was delivered. Just my

Mine had a spot on it too when I got it that looked funny. Dealer did a half a$$ job trying to get it off. Boyfriend who is detailer said nevermind, I'll take care of it. He was able to buff it out when we got home.

You might also try doing a clay bar treatment. It removes many imperfections and the above mentioned rail dust quite nicely.

I haven't taken any pictures. But there is no way a clay bar would take this out. You couldn't even wet sand this out. I know a decent amount about paint. Used to detail cars for a long time. In just one day it has begun to form another ring inside the original ring. I am going to take it to the dealer either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Took the car to the dealer and they told me moisture must have gotten in the line. They have seen it before and it appears on the roof and the hood on others. I am dropping it off tomarrow and they said it will be ready Wednesday.

they'll probably cut the clear coat down, and re-shoot it.

Well, I picked up the car yesterday. I know the body shop mangager and he made sure they did a good job. It looks perfect, especially for black. They really did a good job.
