Yes,I would agree with you because the remote AND the TPMS are not working
along with the little spot light. Is there any test I should do before I buy the replacement RCDLR?Note that prior to the door change everything was in working order.Thank you!

If it worked before the door replacement I would suspect electrical connector or bad ground where the door harness plugs in.

If you paid someone to replace the door, it is their problem. I do not think up and replacing RCDLR is a good way to go about it. OK, so the spot light does not work; it is tied to the dashboard lites, which come on automatically when the headlites/parking lites are on (NOT when DRLs are on), do you have headlites? This is sounding like somebody messed around were no one should however check the electrical connectors at the door, could be bad connections or shorts either in the connectors or inside the door switches. Do the locks, windows and mirror work?

Yes, I have 117,000 miles on my 2007 HHR. It has proven to be very reliable even at such high miles. No major problems of any sort yet; I am very satisfied with my HHR and have a lot of faith in it.

I'm finding that it's not the remote key fob, but rather the built in antenna. It works intermittently, and after using the new (never used) spare key fob, it does the same thing.
Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks,

John, I am finding the same thing. Both my remotes do not work are barely work. One did have a bad solder joint but I fixed that and it was better for a bit but now the remotes work about 1 in 20 tries. New batteries too.
Also, the alarm arms itself when locking with the electric lock button on the door, not just the remote.

And to clarify, my remotes do not lock or unlock.

Interestingly enough I have the same problem with the key fob not always working but found if you use the key then count 1-1000 up to five before opening the door 90% of the time the alarm won't go off.
