Serpentine belt

Serpentine belt
By the time I get home next week, I'll have almost 94,000 miles on my 09 2.2 lt. I'm going to replace the serpentine belt with my cousin and I've looked at several websites. I've seen belts ranging from $9.00 - $21.00. Now obviously, I do a lot of miles and I'm not going to skimp on the belt....but do I need to spend $21.00 on a belt? Any recommendations on specific brand or model of serpentine belt? Any info would b helpful, thanks inadvance.

Buy what you want, then swear to everybody that it is the best brand ever. How many do you think you will ever buy?
Does the old one need replacing?
Be prepared for a worse job than you think. Hint: remove the engine mount to make your life a little easier.

Well the serpentine belt was done on Fri. Like anything else, with the right tool, it's not that bad. I bought a gates belt & borrowed the belt tension tool from an O'reilly auto parts store near me. It took about 15 mins. Even at 94,000 miles the old belt was still in really good shape so I kept it just In case. Looking forward to doing the 100,000 mile service in about 6 weeks. Chevy wants $1,100 so I'm going to check with a few other mechanics in the area. I'll keep you posted.

Why pay for them to tell you what is wrong. IMO wait for it to break. They charge way to much money for "inspecting" it. These inspections are a joke. My brother used to work at a Chevy dealer.
On the other hand it does depend on how mechanically inclined you are
