"Service Traction" & "Service Esc"

2008 Auto LT2 won't start with key - won't attempt to turn motor.

The messages are
"Service Traction" appearing for a few seconds followed by "Service Esc"

Wednesday, drove it, temp was -27C.

Friday, it won't evn turn over. Temperature did drop down to -35 in the meantime but today it has warmed up to -25C.

Is there any way to reboot - like disconnecting the batery. (Have warmed the battery.)

Neither message should make the engine not turn over, but a low voltage battery will set those codes. The ebcm is the most power consuming module on the vehicle and when the voltage gets low it triggers the codes.

It does seem to be a battery problem. After 3 hours of charging it started - with block heater and oil pan pad heater. It's not that cold - holding around minus 25C all day. Car put in-service Oct 2007. The battery may not have been kept charged prior to my ownership. I will put a 50W blanket on, for sure.

I notice the TPMS now displaying an error - not reading any pressure. Probably those batteries now. When it warms up I'll check again.
