shifter stuck, but not stuck??
The cup holders are in a bad spot! I stopped suddenly and spilled a little soda on the shifter and now when I try to put it in gear it won't go.
I do eventually get it in gear (anywhere for 5 to 35 minutes of trying).
Now the other part is when I put it back into park, shut the car off, take out the key and take my foot off the brake I can move it into any gear I want until I put the key back in and turn the car on and put my foot on the brake.
Any idea what I did and how to fix without going to the dealer.
I do have a warranty, but I don't think they'll cover this.

I believe another member did this a while back and posted on it.
The sugarized water probably stuck the electronic switch located under the boot. You'll probably need to disassemble and clean well, to get it to work. Or take it to the dealer.

I did it too, just clean everything, because you might have soda dried in the switch and those little plastic louvers on the boot will stuck together too, makes a really horrible popping noise !!!
