Do any of the Energy Suspension bushings fit an 08 LS HHR with 2.2? Like Energy Suspension Part# 9.5161G? I think my sway bar is 25mm thick 1 Inch..

If your lower control arm bushings go south, you will need two of these to replace to soft and mushy rubber bushings

MOOG-K200792 - Front Lower Control Arm Bushing - Rear Arm to Frame made by MOOG

Second best improvement on the HHR, the larger SS brake upgrade was the 1st!!

The sway bar was 23 mm for 2006, and all SS 2008 thru 2010

2007 thru 2011 LS/ LT the swaybar was 25 mm but please measure twice and order once!

Oldblue ..

I don't believe that your statement above and highlighted by me, is absolutely correct. My '06 2lt HHR had a 25 MM (1 inch ) bar. I remember because it was exactly the same size as my '08 Vette with the 2lt package...25 MM, which was later changed to a much more aggressive package.

Sorry, about posting this kind of after the fact. Didn't see this thread until recently.

Edit......Just checked Whopper's sticky related to this.... according to that information the FE1 is 23 MM the FE3 is 25 MM. So the OP needs to determine which vehicle he has........an LS with the FE1 or the LT with FE3.

Hence I added the cavet measure twice order once, but there are 23mm bars and 25mm bars, my information was derived from this excerpt from the list of common part numbers

Sway Bar Bushings - suggested by Snoopy with addons from 843de
- FE1:
>>> 2006 & 2007 production until VIN#3GNDA23P26S546471. Use GM PN 15822993 (which equates to a 23mm bar - energy suspension pn: 9.5159 (greaseable) - 9.5115 (non-greaseable))
>>> for FE-1 suspension after VIN#3GNDA23P26S546472. Use GM PN 20902784
(Note: my early early 2006 FE1 sway bar crudely measures out at 23MM so double check yours as the 1" bushings do not fit mine)
- FE3: Energy suspension poly for 1inch/25mm bar - greaseable - 9.5161 (9.5110 non-greaseable)
- FE5: Energy suspension poly for 23mm bar - greaseable - 9.5159 (9.5115 non greaseable)
------- GM - 20902785

Snoopy , I see in this you indicated your early 2006 roughly measures 23mm, can you please verify so Whopper can correct the list if need be?

The confusion is that the FE1 uses the 23mm bar (as does all the SS models). There are two different GM p/n's for the FE1's dependant on the VIN number as noted - and I don't know what the difference is, if any, between the two different P/N's.

One has to confirm the build list in the glove-box to see what suspension was on the car - I would not go by LS/LT designation.

The FE3's use a 25mm bar across the board from what we have seen so far.

Measure twice is definitely a mandatory rule - I totally forgot I had a brand new unused electronic calliper sitting in my tool box, and just eye-balled mine with a ruler first. I could have sworn it came out to 25mm. But of course I was wrong - found my calliper and it actually was 23mm. Dang.
