Stability control applying the brakes randomly!!

About as disturbing as a malfunction can get.
2010 HHR. Driving straight ahead about 30 mph. The brakes start applying (HARD!) over and over and over all by themselves! The car was bucking like a bronco. The dash said ESC Active.
Luckily, I always read my car manuals and knew that pushing and holding the traction control turns off the ESC.
It's the only way I got it to stop.
I drove the rest of the day by turning off the ESC at each start.
I can only guess what kind of toast I would have been if this had happened on the freeway.
What the Hell?!?
I want to contact GM on this tomorrow since I feel that I could be thrown into total loss of control of the vehicle. This is waaaaaay worse than an ignition switch problem.
Anyone here know what number to call to get some serious attention from GM?
Thanks.

Your first contact should be your local dealer, and have them tow it in - it sounds too dangerous to be driven. It's a warranty issue unless you are way over the mileage.

You can find the right numbers for GM in your Owners Manual.

Will start making arrangments this morning.
I'm at 77,xxx miles. Is this covered under the 100,000 mile warranty?

Until you identify the problem source and parts involved, there is no way to tell if it's covered by the 100k mile powertrain warranty.

I would assume that it would be covered under the power train as your problem is effecting how the car drives.

Not necessarily. Here is a good link to Powertrain Warranty covered parts. Post #7 will show you some that are excluded.
