Tire pressure monitor problems

Hey folks,
I just picked up a new 08 SS last Monday. On the ride home of about 20 miles the service tire pressure system light came on.I looked in the manual and reset it and it went out.The next day on my way to work, around 30 miles or so it came on again.I dropped the car off at the dealer on Tuesday to have it fixed.
I was showing no reading on the RR tire, but it was fine when I dropped it off. They said the replaced the sensor and the light was out.On the way home it came on again except it was showing no reading on the left rear tire this time.
I called the dealer back and they are going to pick it up on monday and drop off a rental, and pay for my gas for the trips to the dealer. The service rep said they were thinking it might be a heat issue.
Has anyone else had this trouble?I was wondering if it was a design flaw somewhere.

Mine has been working great (08 NA). What do they mean by "heat issue"?

Sounds like you have found good dealer at least.

A shame you are having such problems. Mine have worked great from day one. They match a known accurate gauge I have exactly, and identified a slow leak (1 psi/day) for me before it was a real problem.

Lots of issues with this too. It cuts on every morning, about the same time and same place on the same tire. I travel about 55 miles to work, and the LR sensor bugs out and goes offline at about 35 miles into my trip. Been meaning to take it down to the shop when i get extra time.

This never occurrs during the day or night driving, just every darn morning that I go to work.

Take your vehicles to the dealer on the TPM issues. This TSB for an update may be the solution.

I was told to always brong in both key fobs when there is a problem with the TPM system.Like I said it was first the RR tire, and now it is the LR tire.Im not sure what was ment by "I think it may be a heat issue" that I was told on the phone.I dont see where heat would make a sensor stop reading unless its re entering the atmosphere.
That isnt the case here.LOL

You're welcome. I just hope they fix your car and quit BS'ing you.

And you mentioned a good point that everyone needs to know. Anytime any GM vehicle has a TPM problem, take both remotes in. We have to reprogram them anytime their are updates to RCDLR module, which is what controls TPM and remote transmitters. If you only take one in, then the other one will no longer open the doors!
