DA = 1,650 about an hour ago, the predictive forecasted DA, is to improve to
below 1,000 , as the night goes on.
Changes = 3" muffler/resonator in place of a 2.5" muffler/resonator.
Also some mighty fine Optimum Spark Timing table changes.
The road feel going to the track felt very good, but I'm not expecting
much of an improvement, if any, as I think I'm maxed out.
Or as Scotty would say, " that's all she's got captain"...
I will update this post, as the night goes on.

DA at 5pm = 1,550 , so it is dropping...
Temps in the 50s tonight, maybe high 40s, during the last runs, of the night...
Hmm... DA was in the 2,400 - 2,500 range when I got my best run of 12.39 last year,
so maybe a new best ET tonight...

6pm update: time trials are delayed as there's a track clean-up going on.
Some guys were here for a track-rental day, this afternoon, & one of the cars blew-up, & caught on fire...
So, the starting line should be really good, with fresh rubber & good track prep...
DA at 6pm = 1,419

Holy Crap
12.3058 @ 109.30 , 1st run at 6:38pm
1.76 60' beats my previous best of 1.78
7.82 1/8 mile also beats my previous best of 7.88
Felt like a rocket ship, out of the hole...
The Optimum Spark table changes are awesome.
They really make a difference on the street, & now at the track...
Also E47 "tunes", really need a 3" exhaust...

DA at 7pm = 1,298
Oil on the track, so another delay tonight...
I'm going to try a stronger launch of the line, for my 2nd pass

12.3857 @ 109.36 , 2nd run at 7:59pm
It didn't like a stronger launch, it slowly was "creeping" to a redlight-start,
as the brakes couldn't hold it from moving.
I' m going back to a softer launch, the same as the 1st run, to see if I can
crack in the 12.20s...
DA at 8pm = 1,107
Do you have aftermarket charge pipes or intercooler yet?

No...
Only engine mod is the K&N air intake system, besides the E47 "tune".
I have a TurboTech engine mount, to plant the power.
I'm running a stock DP, with a 5" diameter 100 cell Random Technology cat, replacing the 2nd cat,
which is equal to "coring", the 2nd cat.
And I have a 3" cat back now.

I do have 2 stock DPs, one with a 'cored' 2nd cat, & the other with the 100 cell 2nd cat, & they run the same,
no difference, when I did my testing.

12.3929 @ 110.05 , 3rd run at 8:31pm
Going the wrong way...
My log file shows some spinning of the line, with the ECM pulling back on
the throttle, for just a split fraction of a second.
Either the track is getting to cold, or I didn't line up right, in some fresh
rubber on the line.
Launching @ 5lbs of boost @ 2,500RPM

12.3249 @ 109.68 , 4rd run at 9:07pm
Switched to the left lane as my 1st 3 runs we're in the right lane.
Thinking that the right lane went to crap...
1.74 60' , close to my 1st run of a 1.72 60'

12.3332 @ 109.70 , 5th run at 9:35pm
Consistent bracket racer now...
I so want to crack into the 12:20s, maybe one more run tonight...

12.3360 @ 110.00 , 6th at 9:53pm , & last run tonight...
Damn good bracket buggy, back-to-back 12.33, with only 18 minutes , cool down, between the last 2 runs...

The 12.20s will have to wait until another day...
Nice run
I see you are still holding the quickest hhr ss title.
I am sure you will be knocking on high 11's with a da close to sea level

Thanks,
There are a few 'buggys' out there, that should be doing quite well, soon...
There's just not enough guys interested in the 1/4 mile, like the Cobalt
guys are...

It's time to back off now...
I'm really afraid that the auto trans is not going to like this abuse, much longer...
It still shifts as well as the day that I got it in April of 2009...
So, I'm not going to chase for a lower ET anymore.
I'm quite happy with how the car runs as a Daily Driver…

From now on, when I go to the track, I'm going to be conservative.
No more 'boosted' launches, that cause the slicks to slip.
I could add some suspension mods, to 'hook' better, but this will
put even more stress on the 4T45 auto trans...
No more 6,500 RPM shifts, I'm backing down to 6,200 RPM.
I'm also going to lower the 'boost', a little.
I'm shooting for a nice dependable, & consistent, 'buggy', that runs high 12s...
Hay, it was fun for 6 years, but it's time to back-off,
before bad things, start happening.
I'm just really surprised that I got away with it, for this long...

A DAY AT THE TRACK , 6 runs in the 12.3s...

In that case, add boost ramp to get rid of the torque spike. Will be much easier on the tranny.

At the track today

At the track today for the 1st & only time this year...
No new mods, just some 'tune' changes this year, to make it
smoother, with better throttle response , on the street.

Good air today, DA is just under 1,000'
I really shouldn't, but I'm going to 'push' it today.

My buggy just turned 30,000 miles today...

1st run I tryed a really aggressive tune & the ECM went nuts , with all sorts of lights, messages, & ding ding ding noises, & reduced power mode, at the end of the run...
Code was P0606, which = a confused ECM, & it was basically telling me , to go **** yourself, as this tune is'nt going to happen...
This code is just like the 'blue-screen' of death, & most ECMs are replaced, when they have this code. But it also comes when your 'tune', is more than the ECM can handle, it knows there are limits....

Ran a 12.66 @ 112.116 at 12:08pm
Still got my best ever MPH with this run

2nd run, with a more reasonable tune, that the ECM liked.
Ran a 12.28 @ 112.67 at 1:03pm
This was my best run ever...
Also my best ever 1/8 mile run also: 7.81 @ 91.17 MPH

3rd run, 12.37 @ 111.88 at 2:38pm
I changed the 'tune' a little, & it didn't like it, & I'll have to look at my 'log',
from this run, to see what went wrong ?

4th & final run, with street tires on, as I had to leave, & I'm now at work.
I did this just for fun, & went slipping & sliding down the track, on my small 205/65/15 , 7" wide street tires, = 13.26 @ 108.04 at 3:15pm...

So slicks are worth exactly 1 full second, over my small street tires...

My small progress over the last few years:
2013 - 12.39
2014 - 12.30
2015 - 12.28
.11 seconds improvement, over the last few years. My 'buggy', is still running strong, after beating on it for 7 years at the track, with an Ethanol mix, for fuel, for 7 years also. Ethanol is Gods racing fuel...
The 4t45e automatic, is also not showing any signs of trouble, & shifts as strong as the day that I bought it new, in April of 2009
