I need help replacing the headlight bulbs on my HHR. Blew the low beam. Manual not too clear.

You need to remove the 2 push pins and 1 screw from the outside edge of the wheel well. Then 1 screw on the inside wall. To get a little more room, there are 2 more push pins and 1 screw under the lip also. You can either turn the tire all the way to inside, or take the tire off. This give you all the room you need to get to the back side of the headlight and keep the new bulb clean.

Pain, yes, but it's actually not too bad.

You don't have to remove all that to change the bulb, that is for changing out the headlight housing itself.

I just replaced both of mine on my 08. This is pretty much how it is done. I had a little trouble getting the new bulb to seat back in. I discovered that when I took the old bulb out the sealing gasket at the base of the bulb stuck to the back of the headlight housing. After I discovered this and pulled it off the new one went right in.

Not that difficult.

Actually sounds a bit easier that the THREE HOURS it took me to replace the H/L bulbs in my wife's Explorer......

I too was surprised. He had to dismantle the entire muzzle to replace the lamp.
But the positive thing - I saw what's inside.

Great tip on the gasket VinceP. It saved me a lot of headache! Replaced 2 bulbs in 10 minutes.
