I have a 2010 LT and my aux input port on my radio is messed up, the port is all loose (you can literally jiggle it around) and the sound keeps cutting out on the passenger side speakers, gotta jiggle around the aux cable till it comes back, I know the port is the problem, my question is since my warranty is up for the radio, has anyone ever taken their radio apart to do any repairs? Also what about the radio locking itself out or whatever from being removed? And if need be I will buy a new radio, if I must anyone know of any double din radios that go right in and work well with stock sound system? Money is kind of tight right now

I had the same problem. The plastic around the aux input broke and caused the cable to be loose. For the time being I took a small piece of paper towel and twisted it and wedged it under the cable. It worked real good for awhile till I could get a permanent fix. I believe you would either have to buy a new OEM radio or buy an aftermarket unit. I was told the aux input is not replaceable. You can find a used OEM radio on Ebay fairly cheap. Make sure its for the sound system you have (pioneer or no pioneer). Another option possible is for a shop to install another aux input in the glove box. We went that route in our Mazda.

The Aux input port is soldered directly to the circuit board in the OEM head units, its fixable if it comes loose, at to the cost of fixing it I'd give these folks a call.

The other options aftermarket or used OEM from e-bay as swerv stated, one advantage of having your own radio fixed is that it'll pop right back in with no programming needed.

If you go the aftermarket route you'll need a GM LAN adapter for things to work right, or you need to factor in about $60-80 for programming if you go the used OEM route.

This site is a good place to shop, I saw a nice pioneer with all the junk you need listed for 500 bucks, check the classifieds.

It is fixable. Dam I was told it wasnt. Oh well im electrically impaired so I just grabbed a new radio.

Its fixable but tricky to do, the Aux port is a surface mount soldering job, and its very easy to ruin the board or accidentally un-solder something.
