coolant temperature readout question??

Question coolant temperature readout question??

i find that if i let my hhr warm up in the morning that my coolant readout is
--- degrees f has this happened to anyone else?

Does the dial temp guage in the dash also remain flat showing no increase in temp and the CEL come on?

yes the thermostat guage is flat also....only when i let it idle for 10 min or so and not every morning either no check engine light though

It needs the thermostat replaced there has been a few with the same thing and replacing the thermostat took care of it .

If you just bought it, is there not a warranty that would cover this repair? It is a fairly easy repair and there are several threads, some with pictures, right in this section....

i had the same problem too. i had it scanned and found out it was the coolant temp sensor. i replace that and reset my check engine light, and it hasnt came back on since. and the gauge is working just like it normally does too.

yes its under warranty and ill have the dealer look at it but its only when it idles for ten min in the morning and theres no check engine light....plus it doesnt even have 30000 miles yet?
