HHR vs deer

I hit a f*ng deer on our way back from a nice weekend in the woods. The rad is damaged so I didn't even try to start the engine. Still, we had a free 3 hour towing ride... Gonna call the insurance company tomorrow morning and see what happens.

The deer did not make it.

Very lucky you didn't just "sweep "out the legs. From the pic the damage looks relatively minor. Are the fender and headlight intact? To me it looks like the hood and grille took it on the chin for you.!!

Ya the hood took it all. But the headlight and fender are a little damaged. If it were a smaller sized car, the deer would have probably crush the hood and smash in the windshield. This time the deer just bounced on the grill 6 feet in the air, 15 feets away in the ditch! Poor little guy.

Shouldn't be too bad. Because of the semi-retro design, the HHR's got a lot of room between the grill and the radiator support - lots more than most.

Oh- and if you're radiator's damaged, there's a good chance your A/C condenser is a goner as well. Get us a pic with the hood open.
