I'll be doing a write up on the Nitto NT-05 once I get to 1000 miles. I went with a 245/40 on an 8" wheel. As far as mileage is concerned, I've lost a bit, and the speedo is a hair off as confirmed by GPS, but nothing major.

i have 245/40 on mine and love em. They are super duper soft, so Ill be lucky to get 30k, but well worth it, imo. down here in texas, it does rain outa the blue, and its not just rain. Its heavy storms lol.

There is a reason that tires are recommended for a certain wheel width. Just because someone puts a oversized tire on an undersized wheell and they think it "fits", doesn't mean you should do it

there is a reason (actually many reasons) that manufacturers recommend a certain width wheel for different sized tires.

Once you go bigger than recommended, not only are you wasting your money but you are also losing any possible performance advantage, that you would be gaining with a proper sized tire

Tire manufacturers spend a lot more money/time/research, than any one of us internet surfers could ever spend in figuring out what the best wheel/tire combination is, so you are much safer trusting them than any of us.

I think the gmax would work, but the F1's 245's were too wide there is a lot of difference between tires.

I see 3 different tires there, SS Fan. Which ones are you talking about, and what type/size are they?

Top left are Continental DWS, very bottom ones are General Tire G-MAX,

I believe he's running 255/40s on 8" Solstice wheels.

I've had two sets of 245's on mine with no problems.
Nitto neogen's - Little noisy, lasted about 30k, good traction when new and deteriorates as the tread goes - Z rated

Yokohama yk580's - Quiet tire, super high treadware rating, Low roll resistance (Haven't noticed any change in MPG) - Decent traction - Only have about 1500 miles on them - W Rated

Also, I liked how the tread didn't go an inch into the sidewall on the Nitto's. The Yokos tread goes about an inch over on the sidewall and doesn't look as sporty. Both sets were from tires.com.

The 245's give it a little better traction and a nicer looking stance.

It was 4 different ones the one on the lift is Goodyear F1as that was the 245x40., they were too wide for the 7.5"s.

but the Gmax03's run narrow, and are my favorite , so far.

I'm glad you guys are testing out all these tires. I'll have lots of road reviews when mine come due for replacement.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I wasn't even looking at General tires. I never heard anyone talk them up, and had assumed they were just meh. I see they even have a warranty, which I like to see (why I am not just getting Eagle GTs again). Even pretty much the same price as the Contis...decisions decisions
