Alternator---how many amps?

Anyone know the answer to this? Also since a GM alt., it should be able to be rebuilt to deliver more, right?

I don't know how many amps, but why do you need more amps? It's plenty if your just upgrading a stereo or adding a amp.

Instead of a redirection, I'll just tell you that it is 130 amps according to Chevy's website. I've been looking into this as well, but if you happen to get it done first, you gotta post results, dude!

Yea, for low-medium wattage systems. I had 1800W running with a mono-channel amp and a 2 farad cap and it still drained my battery. Also, I'd say this is a better way to go than adding a second battery because that's just more load that you put on the alternator.

Copperhead's question signifies to me that he has bigger plans, and wants to do it "right."

And your point!? If I had been able to find that thread I wouldn't have asked it again. Not all of us have had decent computer to rely on.

I was just trying to be helpful...sorry if you feel the need to cop an attitude about it. And...it doesn't have anything to do with having a "decent computer" it's all about getting lucky enough to get the right search terms, I used alternator amps (just forgot to add on the last 7 on the link, for which I apologize.)

In the interest of trying to help you once again...if you know you started a thread, the easiest way to locate it is to click on your username on a thread and view your own profile. Then you can click on view posts started by copperhead and all the posts you started will be there. You can also click on My Posts at the top of the forum and look through those as well...there is only 35 to look through.
