My headlights are fogging/hazing again. I bought a new set, wrapped them with the 3M stuff to protect them and its hazing just like mu previous set. Im thinking its the HIDs getting too hot in there and either burning the housing from the inside or burning up condensation. Ive checked to make sure the rubber seals are properly seated around the lights and they are. So im wanting to get rid of the HIDs and try the LeD option - has anyone gone this route? How is the light output? Any issues? Pros/cons etc
Not sure if i should do LED or go back to regular bulbs..

hey Sky. Believe I was researching this a little while back. Only thing I could find was Single Stage LED Bulbs.. Right now, just low beam as far as I had found.

HID's are a lower wattage, should run cooler.

I've read too many negative comments on LED headlight bulbs so far. Main on is the single led only pointing to the bottom so it doesn't utilize the entire housing for reflection.

Ya im not quite sold on those leds yet. It says in the website it cant be used with DRL which we have here in canada by law. I just dont understand why they keep fogging up, they dont even look clear just a bright haze shining out. And yes i know hids arent meant for this setup in our lights. Might have to go back to original bulbs or buy a set of retrofit lights

Perhaps the 3M headlight protection is trapping too much heat...

If it is just the plastic lens on your headlights that are getting all hazy, I used some bug spray with DEET in it to just wipe them off last summer.

So far so good. The plastic has stayed clear since around August.

I almost always have some bug spray with DEET around so when they get cloudy again I will spray them again.

I figure doing this probably makes the plastic a bit thinner each time so replacing the headlights is more than likely in my future.

After I did the bug spray treatment I put Simonize paste wax on the headlights. That is my favorite wax to use on my cars.

my previous setup had no 3M protector and it was the same issue.
So my guess is that the HIDs are just getting too hot in there and burning up the inside of the lense or condensation.
When it gets warmer here, i will be going back to regular bulbs and selling my HID kits
