Inside the glove compartment of the HHR, there is a tab showing all the factory build codes for the equipment and options on that particular vehicle.

Does anyone have a reference that details the contents of these codes ?

I think, the original poster should request this as a "stickey". Questions come up frequently regarding an option and build code.

I believe that my question was misunderstood. I don't mean ordering codes for a new vehicle. (Although some of the codes are the same as the codes used for ordering)

The codes I am talking about are build codes that show all factory items that were installed on the car, such as :

Type of transmission; Axle final drive gear ratio; Rear sway bar; Brake system, Seats; Interior color code,etc. It shows the paint code for the exterior, and what type of paint was used. It breaks down every item that would have been a choice for a worker on the assembly line. There are about 50 such codes listed on my 2008 HHR SS, most of them being 3 digit alpha numeric codes. It is much more extensive and inclusive than the codes used by a dealer ordering a new vehicle.

I have seen these codes for older GM products, but I don't know where to find a listing of the codes for current products.
