2010 hhr
Hello Folks,
I just bought a 2010 HHR LT with 55K on the odometer last week and was curious about any known or reoccurring problems I should know or be aware to?
My last car was a 2004 Cavalier but the timing chair jumped the sprocket and blew the engine. The car had only 147K on it so I am a little concerned. Does the HHR use the same motor as the Cavalier?
Thank you for your help and a great forum!

Welcome. Another new member asked pretty much the same questions - go read this thread, especially post #5 - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/potential-new-hhr-owner-50170/
The Cavalier with the 2.2 L61 engine is an early variant of the one used in the 2.2L HHRs. Quite a few items were changed such as the coils and their configuration, drive by wire etc., and in the later HHR 2.2 VVT was added.

LOL - no problem. Oh right you are on the number of posts. There is just way too much info at times. Don't forget about the search tool near the top of the page - it's something I use all the time, and it's great to have.

Well, I've got a 86 Corvette with well over 200,000 miles on it. I changed the valve covers at 120,000 and the intake gaskets at 130,000. Still going strong. Hope the HHR will last as long. I'm afraid it may not since the other has a cast iron 350. They seem to last forever if well maintained.
