Hhr ss cams

What is the bottom line on the HHR SS using Equinox Cams ? What about the pump lobe ? or does anyone have the Cam specs to have one ground ? I do not see where this was ever resolved answered etc

Never really researched it, I can't see where the high pressure fuel pump would be driven by the Equinox intake cam

Here the right side cam is the intake side of an SS

Here we see there is not a high pressure pump on this Equinox 2.4

I don't know of a turbo Equinox prior to 2018

Are you talking Chevy Equinox, or some Equinox brand?

Turbos typically don't get as much from cam grinding compared to larger turbo and (eventually) larger injectors and maybe fuel pump.

N/A can see much more improvement, but for turbo cars in general, it's easier to just push more air and fuel through...

Interesting...would a different cam profile be able to bring the "power band" into a different RPM range? A friend of mine once had a 944 Turbo which he took to a performance shop for some upgrades. Among some of these upgrades were camshafts that were designed for more HP/torque at a lower rpm than stock. The result for him was a car that was a total blast to drive on the street, not having to wind it up to ungodly highway speeds and RPMs to get pushed through the back of the seat.

Variable Valve Timing doesn't make that redundant?

There are 3 other threads on the subject listed at the bottom of this page at "Related Topics".

Oh, shirt!!! DonBrew gets nothing. Time for a protest... oh, shirt, who can pay him?

Sorry, Don. Not walking a picket line.
