No, I added seatcovers before any stains..

Not sure if that would be safe or not ?

Yes, I've done it myself with my Hoover Steam Vac AND had a professional detailer do it. Here's what I've learned: I have a grey interior which shows water spots really bad. So, if you are going to clean the seats do the ENTIRE (top and sides) cushion or seat at once, not just part of it. If you do part of the seat you'll get a dark, wavy line where the edge of the water was.

Here's what I prefer to do. When you get your house carpets cleaned. Pay the guy an extra $20 to do your car. Seat and floors don't take that long with their wonds. Plus it dreis faster with their steam vs the home style that just uses hot water.

we have had the interior steam cleaned twice... once for a break-in ( I felt better having the interior cleaned to help remove the broken glass) and once (just having the car for 2 years)

No staining either time.. if you do it, now is the time since the ambient heat will help dry out the car
