Just when do these brake shoes wear out?
I bought a pair of rear brake drums, since I had a Pepboys gift card that was about to run out, so I pulled the drums off at the weekend. The car has 89000 miles, and the drums were last pounded off with a large prybar behind them a couple of years ago, when I just unstuck the adjuster and greased all the wear points while I was replacing the fronts.
Anyway, the shoes are not even half worn, and the drums, while a little ugly on the outside thanks to years of Rust Belt salting are smooth and not significantly worn...not sure if I should take the drums and shoes back or keep them for whenever I do need them.

Those cylinders are not OE.
Shoes usually last 2-3 sets of front pads (140,000); if they are kept adjusted. However you will be surprised at the difference if you replace them anyway.

I thought the cylinders look a bit bling for OE, but I've had the car from new, and I don't think they've ever been replaced.
