Im New and need help..

Just picked up a used 2006 HHR for my mom,,Its a Black 2006 2.4L Auto LT, 17k miles, leather, xm, chrome package, spoiler, roof rack, running boards, and got it for $14,950.

My first question is, where can I buy a new cabin filter from besides the dealer?

My Secound question is, the HHR came with an odd odor, like a cherry smell just wont go away even after we shampooed the carpet and headliner, armor all'd all the plastic and leather, is there any other way to fix this?

Thank you and I'll get pics up asap.

Welcome to Chevy HHR. The place where the points don't matter, yep, they don’t matter just like a Bunch of bananas.

Enjoy the site. And if you have questions, there is a search button on the tool bar above, which a lot of the items fall under already.

We like Pics around here, there is some good how to's and interesting mods (modifications. like the doorknobs, lower grille and upper grille, intakes, and lots of others.

Enjoy your stay :twothumbs and

And by the way, If you live where there is deer in the area, “WATCH OUT for the DEER!!!!

Remember: Nobody….. But…. NOBODY has more deer hits than The Deer Slayer!! #1 Rated.

Try Odor Ban! You can get it at Sams. If that don't work, then there is a Mallaluca product called Sol-u-mel that is guaranteed and I know it to remove any pet odor almost instantly. You can find it through the net.

Nice ride . As for the odor, you may try looking under the seats for a small square piece of thin cardboard. Some detailers and car wash companies put them there for scent, and they are quite strong. Usually they hide them under the seat, or someplace they won't be seen. Not sure about the cabin filter.

BTW welcome to the club!!!

Should be able to buy the cabin filter at places like CarQuest, NAPA, etc.

I know Wix makes replacement cabin filters that fit the HHR.

Welcome to the forum. Nice HHR your mom got...and a good price.

I don't know for sure...but gmpartsdirect.com might have them too.

Maybe the previous owner sprayed air freshner into the AC vents. See if it smells as bad with the air off. Just offering a suggestion to help isolate where the smell is coming from.

Look around and see if you can find anything in any hidden spots. Try Fabreeze and then let it air out good in the garage with the windows down.
