As I posted earlier, the transmitter can indeed go bad over time & use. It was definitely not the contacts or the battery cage in my case.

True true true!!
I am super paranoid about making sure mine doesn't go in the wash.

I did the cleaning with alcohol method on the button contacts and it worked like a champ. Thank you for this thread! Saved me a fat bill from the dealer.

Redneck Fix

My remote key fob stopped working. Opened it and found the wires had come out of the circuit board. Cut a thin slice from one of my foam ear plugs and sandwiched it between the case and the broken item......voila!!! Been working for at least 6 months now.

Mine was a bit intermittent, did the cleaning and it seems to be working great.

The aluminum glued to the button worked quite well for about a year for me. Yesterday I looked out the window and saw the lights flashing. When I got to the car I could hear the locks trying to cycle. This had me spooked a bit even after I got it to stop this odd behavior. later in the day when I touched my fob it would react the same. I opened the fob and found the foil had come loose and was intermittently making contact confusing the cars electronics.

The fix this time was to cut foil to cover entire board and a matching piece of mylar. Punch holes where needed for buttons and sandwich together.

Board, mylar, foil then buttons. If you could make the holes in packing tape then stick to foil that may work well.

I have a feeling several posts will be deleted soon.

And the spam and responses to it have been deleted. The poster has not returned.
