I am redoing pretty much my whole system hopefully starting next week. I will be replacing everything except the subs. It should be just a drop and swap on a majority of the stuff with some little tweaks to be made. The current radio (alpine-cda9887) will be replaced with an Alpine dva-9860 with an Alpine pxa-h701/rux-c701 processor combo. The amp(soundstream d'artagnan) is bein replaced with an Audison Lrx5.1k 1600 watt 5ch. I love my one amp installs, simplicity when it comes to mounting and hiding stuff. My current front stage speakers(exile xp65's) are bein replaced with Hertz ML1600 mids in the doors and Hertz ML280 tweeters in the a-pillars. They are essentially the Hertz MLK2 component set, just without the crossovers and 700 dollars. The wiring will also be redone with the door wiring ran into the doors, instead of splicing into factory.
I am hoping to just trim a little here and there for it to fit. I will be working on deadening the doors more and will be molding the tweeters in after they are aimed correctly. The a-pillars will be redone with bondo and die and textured to look factory when they are done. I am hoping to have it all done by the end of the month for a local show, crossing my fingers there. I will definately be taking pics along the rebuild and will post as i go along.

so what are you doing with the parts that are getting replaced, mainly the head unit?

The head unit is already sold to a fellow I work with. The amp and components will probably collect dust. The amp has a channel going bad.

Here is my new amp and mids. The tweeters and new distribution block is on backorder.

I will redo the pics tomorrow. I got the new wiring done today. It is no fun pulling wire thru door jams, but its doable. Ill post more pics also.
