Towing

Hey all, i have a 2009 HHR, no frills. I was wondering if anyone added a hitch to theirs and towed anything. I wanted to put one on (even though it'll void my warenty) but i'm not sure how it will handle the weight. The owners manual says ok under 1,000 lbs. But just wanted to hear from somone with experiance. Any advice or coments would be apreciated. Thanks.

Towing...

You don't indicate whether you have a manual or automatic transmission. If you have the 5-speed, then yes you will be voiding your warranty. The owner's manual specifically warns that you can't tow anything with the 5-speed. However, if you have an automatic then it is perfectly ok to tow up to 1000 lbs. with your HHR, and this won't void your warranty. Just be careful to pay close attention to that limit, because the HHR isn't a truck.
