2009 HHR Recall
Important GM Recall Alert: 277K Vehicles To Be Checked For Transmission Park Problem
Source: Automotive News Email Alert
Harry Stoffer - Automotive News - March 13, 2009 - 10:32 am ET
WASHINGTON -- General Motors is recalling 277,000 vehicles built for the 2009 model year to fix a defect that can cause a parked car or truck to roll away.
A loose clip on the transmission shift cable can cause a driver to move the shift lever to park without putting the transmission into park, according to a notice posted today on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Dealers are to inspect the transmission shift cable, and if the clip is not engaged, the dealers are to replace the cable, a GM report to NHTSA said.
Affected models are the Buick Enclave; Chevrolet Cobalt, HHR, Malibu and Traverse; GMC Acadia; Pontiac G5 and G6; and Saturn Aura and Outlook.
