I looked up the parts and found so many different options. Since I am at work and cannot measure this vehicle, but would like to order now. Does anyone know for sure which length would be on an 06 with the FE1 suspension? It's an LT1.
Rock auto lists 4 different lengths plus one for the FE5 (which it is not) :
9.98" center to center
11.80" center to center
333mm (which converts to 13.11") but does not specify center to center
281mm (which converts to 11.06") but does not specify center to center

huh? I guess you got stuck in the wrong thread. Sounds like sway bar link question, just turn the wheels then get down on the ground and measure what you have. I bet it will be the approx. 10" one.

Just FYI, I finally got the hatch open using the hidden latch release. Getting the cover off was easy, but I never noticed that it was there. Finding the latch release with a screw driver was NOT easy! I used a flashlight and a dental mirror and saw a little silver thingymabob. Pushing that did the trick! Once open, I was able to remove the entire panel. I checked the latch mechanism and it was fine, it ended up being the touch pad. Getting it out proved to be a task in itself, but removing the hatch panel wasn't necessary.
Does anyone know the part number for the touch pad? Are there any aftermarket parts for this or do I need to go through my dealer? I tried looking it up on Rockauto and found no listing.

Probably a dealer only item...... There may not be enough call for the aftermarket to pick up on this part, at least not yet.

Dang, GM parts dept thinks their shipping is awfully valuble! The part with shipping is $33.37. I was at the dealer and thought I would ask them and he said that the part only comes as an assembly WITH the beauty bar. His price is $33.05 with the bar. I guess I'm going to have him order it.....

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the car? My hatch quit working a while ago, and it finally got warm enough for me to take it apart.

the fuse looks good, and using a meter, I'm not getting any juice to the switch. I gotta go hunting now for a bad connection.

When I had this problem last year, the problem wasn't actually the fuse, it was that the fuse was in the wrong place. Double check that the fuse is actually in the spot it's supposed to be in. Mine was straddling a vacant spot. Once I moved it into place the hatch immediately started working again.
