Need Hitch for 2009 Panel

Does any of you members, know if you can get a hitch for a 2009 Panel, The local chevrolet dealer said they make them but not for manual transmission. If anyone knows if one is made please reply so I can try to find one.

The dealer said that because Chevy does not recommend towing with an HHR w/ manual trans.
The hitches available for the HHR will fit either an auto or manual trans model.

Copied this from the owners manual:
Towing a Trailer
(Manual Transmission)
Do not tow a trailer if the vehicle is equipped with a
manual transmission.

I got the one for my 2007 at etrailer.
Mine is a manual transmission and I have no problem towing.
You just have to use common sense - that's why GM put that note about not towing with a manual, some people have no common sense.
Here is a link that should take you right to the hitch for a 2009.

I just got one installed on my manual hhr ss 2008 model, I just went to uhaul and had them install hitch and wiring. No problem, no questions asked. I just plan on pulling a small trailer but I can tell you it pulls excellent. I guess the downside is they could use that as an excuse to void warranty. Not sure why they say that, it all seems plenty strong to me. If I have much weight I would probably stay out of 5th gear. I know some autos are burned up if you tow in overdrive . Is that why or do they think clutch or transmission are not up to it?

I have one on my SS and its the same for all the HHRs...I didn't cut my rear just in case it comes off one day..the fascia is quite flexible and has no problem setting on top the bar. Been on since Sept of 08' .
