Tail of The Dragon 2015 Hotel Information, Oct 15-18th
For This Year, we booked the Microtel Hotel in Robinsville, right around the corner from Lynnes Restaurant downtown
Group name is HHR Tail of the Dragon 2015 and we booked 10 so far and early enough to book more if needed.
Rate is $69 and $82 a night including all taxes. 2 nights was $164.05 total
Pets are $50 a night so not reasonable on that one.
Sweetwater was 55 miles away from the Dragon and now we are 18 miles away and in the middle of all the great roads and scenery.
you can book up to 3 days before the meet.

we do some roads on Thurs and Friday we do the other large route
Sat is the main route w trips to the Dragon all 3 days
the routes are great and fun and we end up doing around 8000+ turns in 2.5 days. so it is a great time

With the recent passing of CJ, does anyone know if the meet this year is still going on as planned? If so who all is going? I'm just wondering cause I recently put in to take leave for it this year so I could be there and wanted to make sure whether or not this was still happening before I make the hotel reservations.

It's still on, and unless we here anything to the contrary, it will be held in CJ's memory.
What may not happen, and I'm awaiting replies to a ton of e-mails that I've sent out to the various Agencies/Authorities that control the lands that "The Dragon" passes through, is the family's wish to scatter CJ's ashes at a spot along the way.
North Carolina and Tennessee have laws pertaining to scattering someone's ashes, and it would be so sad to have CJ's survivors on the wrong end of a fine or citation.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Like I said I just wanted to be sure it was still happening before I made the reservations. That being said as long as my leave gets approved for those dates, I plan on being there with the Miata. My plan is to leave on the morning of the 15th so I should be there sometime in the late afternoon to early evening hours. I'm going to PM you my cell # though so that we can keep in touch in case anything changes between now and then.
I think it's a great idea to hold the meet in his memory and hopefully you hear back from those agencies and we'll be able to scatter his ashes somewhere along the way as his family has wished.

Got yours as well Mike and safe travels on your trip to Deutschland. I've officially made my hotel reservations and found out last week that my leave got approved! Now hopefully they don't mess up my paperwork like they did last time, but it's looking like I'm a go to be there.

6th Anual Tail of the Dragon
Linda & I will be attending the Dragon G2G. I think everyone will be meeting up at the Dinner which is real close to the Motel in Robbinsville but have not heard exactly when.

Hey Guys and Gals, This is Christien. I haven't been on this site in years. We are still having the meet. CJ's ashes will not be spread this year. A bunch of us are staying at a cabin in Maggie Valley this year, and we will be leaving out of there every morning. If anyone wants to meet up PM or call me 850-341-0661

Just checking to see if anyone else is here yet? I just checked in to the hotel about an hour ago. Noticed a bunch of fellow Miata owners cars sitting in the parking lot, but not a single HHR. foolmoon design, if you happen to see this I will shoot you a pm in the morning and try to meet up with you guys sometime tomorrow. I'll probably be sleeping in seeing as how it's already almost 1 am eastern time. If for whatever reason we're not able to meet up tomorrow then we will plan for Saturday. Looking forward to exploring some of the roads around here the next few days.
