Watch Out Denver!!

To anyone in the Denver area:

Watch out for a brown Chevy Lumina:

If it's driving like a crazy tourist, cut them some slack... It's me!!! (but it's my friends car) Make sure you wave because if you're driving the HHR I'll be looking!

I'm flying out with a friend tomorrow morning from Flint, and we're staying with a friend who goes to the University of Denver, then driving home with him.

Can't wait! I just love the Denver area!!!

You may want to give a shout to Deb via email. I know she's not posted in a while, but I'm pretty sure she is still active.......

Welcome

I think you will enjoy Denver. My company is cutting my job and I could keep it if I move to Lansing, MI. Being that even the people I have talked to from Lansing did not paint a pretty picture, it was not an option for me. Are you going to be living in Denver, or one of the burbs?

Yeah, Michigan is "livable", but not really enjoyable...lol.

We're staying at the University of Denver right now. If and when I do move out here, we will probably be living in that area.

Yeah I came out to Denver about a month ago, and it's AMAZING!! Today we went up into the mountains and it was so pretty! I especially loved seeing the Georgetown loop!

You need to drive from Morrison to Evergreen. Fun drive in the HHR but better on a Harley.

Mountain driving

My HHR does pretty good in the Mountains. I had a Jeep Wrangler and would be going about 50 up to the Eisenhower Tunnel. I can go much faster in the HHR and not have to worry about getting the 15mpg the Jeep got. In fact on one trip I filled up in Dillon and averaged 40mpg to my house in Aurora. Not bad.

I agree with the mountain driving. Over the Memorial Day weekend I took the family to Glenwood Springs. The HHR had plenty of power, was doing 55-65 going up, sometimes in 4th gear and the best part I got 30 MPG up and back.

That's what I thought, until I left, now I want to move back. I know the economy is in pretty bad shape, but I still love the state.

I miss the lakes a lot. Living on the east side, and being able to get to Huron in an hour and into Canada if I wanted. Living on the west side and being on the beach in 45 min. The small beach towns, Dunes, Mackinac, lots of other things. Yeah, i miss it.

However, I would go to Colorado just for the mountains. My snowboard hasn't seen snow in 2 years because if Indiana now...

Well, I made it home safe and sound last night. I ended up driving the whole way out of choice, and of course my friends didn't complain!!!

Drive was fine and uneventful, but I thought the plains were more flat...

Anyways, the HHR was FILTHY from sitting outside, so even though it's going to rain tonight I had to wash it!!! At least it won't be as dirty now...
