Has anyone removed the air box cover on The hhr ss ??? Results?? I've read that it can cause a lack of power due to hot air being sucked in but I have read that installing a cold air intake would throw a code and u need to have a tune after installing ?? Thoughts or results

Seeing as you asked the same question in another thread, I'll leave this open and delete from that thread.

Many have stated the lid removed sounds better, but that defeats the cold air deal, sounds don't get you HP.
As for codes it might be related to an over oiled air filter, from most threads about aftermarket cold air intakes.

It makes noise. Sucks in hot engine compartment air. Results are nothing gained and probably hurts engine performance.
