need help with a code p0010 cam sensor bank 1 and p0011
I have a 2009 HHR with the 2.0 . Check engine light P0010 and P0011 cam sensor bank 1 . I replaced the sensor and it was off for a month car runs fine and the code came back no problem with performance .

Did you clear the codes after doing the work, the codes will self clear but it does take X number of cycles to do it, so you might have old codes stuck in the memory.
Now if you did clear the codes, it'll require more investigation.
P.S. to the forum!

I believe that there are 2 cam sensors, exhaust and intake. Not sure on 2009 SS.
But, just because the title of the code is "cam sensor" does not mean the cam sensor is broken. It means that you should start a diagnostic procedure entitled "cam sensor bank 1" that can be found in your official GM Service Manual. Just as likely your timing chain tensioner is bad.

DASH0071972@ : - P0010/11 relates to the Camshaft Position Actuator SOLENOID Valve - not the sensor. They are two entirely different parts.
Go read the first posting in this thread:

If it really was the sensor you replaced, you aren't the first to make that mistake. Some auto parts stores have been advising to replace the sensor after downloading the codes for the customer - and they misinterpret what the codes are referring to.
P0010/11 refers to the Intake solenoid, and P0013/14 refers to the Exhaust solenoid.

I had this issue before. I cleared the codes a few times before finally replacing the int solenoid.
As whopper stated it is definitely not the cam sensor. It is the int solenoid. If you have the stock airbox on(or cover), take it off and on top of the engine you will see 2 solenoids(side by side) in front the 1st cylinder that go into the head. Those are the int/exh solenoids for VVT. Replace the int solenoid and your issue will very likely be solved. I think it was ~$65 at the dealer.

power reduced/ engine disabled P0013/P0014
Thanks Whopper: :two thumbs: auto store sold me a cam sensor too. Codes P0013/P0014 C0561 ,sensor didn't fix it and dealer reset MAP, again no fix. Replaced cam actuator solenoids and smooth running, no more lights...not sure how many more trips to dealer it would have taken. Many Thanks Again...
