$750 replacement tires from dealer?
My 2011 has 49k miles and needs tires. At a recent oil change dealer basically said we must use GM appoved tires or the world will end tire pressure gauge will not work, brake sensors will fail, wheel will break. etc. It is bascially the same verbage in the owners manual.
What is the truth here? and what is the deal with the pressure senors?
on another site I read this should be replaced whenver you change tires. Not sure if this was in the dealer price.
I've seen OEM sensors on Ebay for around $130

Thats all bulls***....the tire pressure monitors stay with the rims...the rest is pretty much a farse as well...find a quality tire place or even tirerack.com...DON'T GO TO A DEALER.

I have had tires replaced and all we did was reset the TPS. I sold tires from my car to another forum member and everything worked okay. I did go to Firestones and they wanted to rebuild my sensors at my cost. All I saw was a bag of crap and them screwing something up. Go to a reputable tire dealer you trust and buy tires. Be aware of the condition of your car, so they don't pull the your car needs a muffler, brakes, rotors and a kinnooter valve crap.

I have had four sets of tires installed on my HHR since I got it, the original Firestones, Hercules cheapo's, BFG Traction T/A's, and BFG Advantage T/A's, the last where installed at my local Chevy Dealer, they were the least expensive, they offered several choices of brands and types of tires, they did not try any upsales crap, but I must have been lucky as the local tire store quoted $130.00 more for their same brand /size price!
as Smokey warned us all back in the day " You'd better shop around!!!"
