I have to wonder how an HHR with bias ply tires would handle.... Not that I would actually want to experience it.

Please don't install old technology bias ply tires! Very incompatible with with HHR steering geometry!!

Don't worry i won't . I found some motorcycle wheels that i will modify to fit and they will clear the strut!

I hope you're joking.
I doubt that "motorcycle wheels" can take the extra weight of a car. Besides that. Clearing the strut isn't the only problem. Scrubbing the inner wheel well is another issue.
