I bought one of these, hoping beyond hope it would program my 2010 HHR's sensors, as the "by the book" method won't work(could never get it to honk). Anyway, got it in the mail yesterday, nice looking unit for $20. However, 2 problems, first, it only lists 2008-2009 HHR's, and the site where you can download firmware updates for it(CUB-Download) requires you to type in your serial number to download updates. It doesn't recognize my serial number. Second problem, it tells you in its manual you need to press both lock and unlock buttons on the keyfob for 5 seconds after turning the key to ACC and pressing lock then unlock. I cannot get my HHR to honk, confirming its in learn mode. Only thing it seems to do is disable my keyfob for about 12 hours. Has anyone been able to download the firmware or even get a 2010 HHR to honk?

I have a 2010 and the "by the owners manual" method works fine. Honks and all.
Problem is, it's a pain in the arse having to deflate tires and all.
I just ordered one of the Cub learn tools today. I saw that the 2010 model wasn't listed, so for $20 I figured it wasn't much of a gamble if it will work or not.
Lilricky. If you don't figure yours out, I'll post up my review when mine gets delivered.

I ordered one of these last week but apparently UPS "lost" the package. Yesterday, after a few phone calls, I was advised it had been delivered to a woman at my address.
(no woman was at my house during the delivery time they quoted)
I told them it had probably been dropped off at my neighbors by mistake but the neighbors were out of town for the weekend. UPS said they would follow up and get back with me.
Well, 5:00 pm my neighbor comes over with my lost package. I thanked him.
This morning no follow up call from UPS.
3:00 pm. UPS pulls up with another package delivery. Yep. That's right ! I now have a second Cub TPMS trigger monitor.
Not sure why they just sent a 2nd one since I advised them the 1st one was most likely at the neighbors.
Oh well. Always nice to have a spare.

The reason I did not get one 2 years ago, when I got my 2011 is because it did not say anything about beyond 2009 models and that it DID say "no more updates available". It is a discontinued product.

Ok, after alot of messing with their site, I was able to grab the last firmware, 2.7a, it now gives up to 2010 on the HHR. And I found out what the problem was. One of my tire pressure sensors was going out intermittently, so got that one replaced. After that, I was able to do the unlock/lock trick on the keyfob. Programming was straightforward and easy, just spend a few seconds on each tire and poof, everything was good. Much easier than having to deflate/inflate. Highly recommend buying one.
<EDIT> By the way, I was told that the tool will update a 2010, even without the latest firmware, possibly the 2011 as well.
