my older brother years ago bought
some stick on www's rings for a 48
chevy he had. they were in the garage
and i took the beauty rings off of my
85 monte ss wheels and slid the www on the
rings and popped them back on the stock
steel wheels.
I am prolly the only person to do that
to an 80's monte ss

so i know this post is about white wall tires but what if i told you all about a product thats been around since the 40's, that fits the oem hhr steel wheels and cost less than 300 dollars. i will tell you what i did to my car and i get thumbs up everywhere i go. so i ran across an item called LYON WHITE WALLS they were white wall trim rings from the 40's. i bought them on ebay for $49 shipped to the door, i repainted them since they were 60 years old, then i painted my steel rims red to match my car. so i then cut the prongs off the back off the rings and then set them on the rim. i then drilled 4 holes into each rim and white wall ring. i bought some nuts and bolts at home depot and screwed the rings to the rim. so now i had a 4" white wall that wasnt part of the tire at all. but the lugs were showing which looked ugly, so then i bought spyder caps on ebay for $150, you have to buy the one that is just the center bullet then has plastic bullets to cover the lugs. i sniped the holes on the center cap so it would fit, installed it and when it was all done it looks awesome! cost me like $245 for the entire set up, the hardest part was drilling the holes. if you do this, when you go to get your tires changed the mechanic has to take the ring off or the automated machine will crush it like a grape. hope you guys found this helpful

heres a link of what the rings look like
