OEM Wheels and Baby Moons Idea

Ok so I've read a most if not all the threads on the baby moon topic. All of which point to no baby moons that will fit the stock OEM HHR wheels. I began to think there must be some way to make it work. So I kept searching and came across this idea: Adding VW type hubcap clips to our wheels. Has anyone tried this with the HHR wheel? I found others who have done it with New Bettle and Fiat wheels. Unless someone here has found a reason this won't work I think I'm gonna try it.

Give it a shot, and let us know. I don't have the extra money to be trial and erroring this kind of stuff..

I really don't either but the clips are pretty cheap on ebay and I'm going to try with my spare tire wheel first.

Believe the spare tire wheel to be smaller than a Stock Steelie in just about every way.

Good luck though.

The wheel is narrower but the center where i need to put the clips seems to be about the same.

I presume the hubcap snaps over the edge, But how is this attached to the wheel? Are those nuts connected to the lugs?
